Sabbatical?
In the summer of 2002 I decided to take a sabbatical. Of course I didn't decide then and there, but gradually came to the decision over the first 3 months of the year.
Why did I decide to do it? I was just tired of the rat race and working for companies that didn't know what they were doing and turning out lousy products. I knew I was capable of doing much better work, but they were getting in my way. This is an attempt to regroup and rediscover the joy in developing software. Also, my personal life is rather empty and I want to discover who I really am and try to rediscover the joy in life as well. I feel a little trapped in Salt Lake as well. I want to explore other places and see what they have to offer.
The following articles document my travels and feelings during this time.
